As a world class convention and meetings facility, Centro Banamex has impressive infrastructure and an expert staff, which have made it the ideal option for expos, shows, congresses and conventions, as well as corporate, social and cultural events.
At Centro Banamex, we understand that our operations inevitably have an impact on the environment, for which reason we are committed to strong environmental guidelines and sustainable development practices, for the good of the community to which we belong. We are working hard to improve the facility?s environmental and social sustainability. One of the best ways of ensuring we achieve this goal is through Earthcheck Certification, and its subsequent ratification year after year. This way we can be sure that the social and ecological impact we make on our local environment is positive.
Our Earthcheck coordinator, Luis Pascacio, and our Green Action committee, made up of Centro Banamex employees, are working on our Earthcheck Certification program, to which end they perform the following functions:
- Seek the best environmental practices.
- Act upon environmental impacts.
- Apply social and environmental sustainability measures.
- Identify environmental risks.
- Keep a record of data and indicators.
At Centro Banamex we pledge our commitment to:
- Adhere to all legal and regulatory requirements concerning the care of the environment in our industry.
- Implement and periodically update our System of Environmental Procedures.
- Manage water consumption efficiently, through controls on leakage and excessive usage, and maintaining required quality levels of the treatment plant.
- Manage electrical power use efficiently.
- Implement Reduce-Reuse-Recycle programs for the facility?s consumables and waste, with a continuous campaign of waste separation and recycling, thereby reducing the amount of waste sent to landfills.
- Create awareness of the importance of caring for the environment among our employees, clients, visitors and suppliers.
- Keep CO2 emissions from our auxiliary equipment (emergency power generators and boilers) within regulated levels.
- Give preference to nationally produced consumables and local suppliers of services.
- Perform continuous workplace environmental training for Centro Banamex employees.
- Collaborate on Earthcheck?s annual evaluation by sending our environmental data.
- Establish new objectives and goals each year for sustainable development, in line with Earthcheck best practices guidelines.
- Supervise and assess the progress towards our goals, with the aim of making continuous improvement in our environmental and sustainability performance.
- Review the Sustainability Policy annually.
